Percs create a smoother smoking experience!

Percolators (also called percs) may look complicated, but all they do is attract the contaminants found in smoke and filters them out before you inhale. A smoother hit means that there will be next to no coughing and bigger bong rips which will get you higher.

Percs are awesome! An easy comparison is to take a hit from a dry hand pipe (from Jupiter Grass - Canada's Most Trusted Online Headshop) and comparing to a toke from a water pipe. There is a significant different between hitting a glass bong and a glass pipe. You can never have too much filtration. Smoking is so much smoother when it travels through a perc.

Types of Percs:

Diffused Downstem Percolator - This one is considered the simplest of the percs, but is still very effective at creating bubbles (diffusion) which helps cool your smoke. Some bongs include a diffused downstem or you may add them later as an accessory. This type of downstem is a small glass tube with slits on the sides and bottom and extends from the insertion point down and ending up submerged in the water. Increased diffusion creates better tasting and healthier hits because more of the contaminants are removed.

Tree Percolators - This perc is a round disc with many holes that is flat and are sometimes stacked to create multiple chambers. These percs are parallel to the base of the bong or dab rig which helps the perc shoot bubbles straight up throughout the chambers. You will enjoy more cooling and filtration when you have multiple levels of percs.

Showerhead Percolators - They use a tube that is connected to the main chamber that pulls the smoke up and through a larger tube. Smoke is then pushed down and out of a rounded base that will have either slits or holes. Showerhead percs have openings are of varying sizes which maximizes the diffusion. Increased diffusion creates better hits during your session. It also resembles a showerhead.

Honeycomb Percolators - This one is a round disc with many small holes that is flat and are located parallel to the base of the bong or dab rig. Honeycomb percs are also sometimes stacked to create multiple chambers. This helps shoot bubbles straight throughout the chambers. More filtration equals powerful and more smooth hits.

Inline Percolators - They deliver a diffused and powerful hoot through a horizontal tube with numerous slits in it. Some of these inline percs have more slits in them that creates diffusion when the air, smoke, and the bubbles are moving through each slit.

Matrix Percolators - This style is usually made in a cylindrical shape that is centered in the base of the bong. It has horizontal slits as well as vertical slits that provide an increased volume of diffusion as the smoke will circulate in many different directions making separation easier. Turbine Percolators - They are also called vortex or cyclone percs and are glass disc percs with precise angled cuts spread evenly around the disc. When you take bong hit, the water is pulled through the angled cuts and is spun in a vortex fashion creating a whirlpool effect. Do you want to get higher?
